Originally from Turkey, Eren moved to London in 2005, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and MBA in LSC. At LSC, he feels he was given the great opportunity not only to meet people from around the world, which broadened his horizons, but also acquired academic qualifications in a subject area that he has always been interested in. While studying, Eren also worked in catering and it was during this time that he came up with the idea of opening his own restaurant with a difference. Opening a Mediterranean restaurant in London became the subject of his MBA thesis in LSC. After two years of groundwork, he finally opened his Turkish Meze, Deli and Food Hall in St Katharine’s Docks, London. Due to restrictions, it took him another one and a half years to convert his deli to a restaurant. Kilikya has been operating for three years. In the meantime, Eren has also got involved in the newspaper and magazine business with two brands, Turkish Press and Business UK, aiming to serve the Turkish community in the UK. For the future, Eren hopes to become a Member of Parliament, representing his region in Turkey, which gave its name to his restaurant, Kilikya, in Turkish Parliament.
