A high profile government delegation from the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Education of Bangladesh visited the London School of Commerce on Thursday, 14 April, 2016. The visit was organised by British Council, Bangladesh in light of the new law permitting quality Cross Border Higher Education. The visit was a result of our application for a license for our existing campus in Dhaka (ACMIT), to become a government approved study centre of London School of Commerce and University of Wales, Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).

The government delegation included: Professor Abdul Mannan – UGC Chairman, State Minister, Dr. Md. Khaled – UGC Secretary, Ms. Durga Rani Darker – UGC Deputy Director, Professor Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah – UGC member, Ms. Jinnat Rehana –Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Education and Mr. Adnan Chowdhury – British Council Dhaka, Manager.

The delegation had an extensive meeting with Tim Andradi, CEO of the LSC Group of Colleges and senior management to understand curriculum development procedures, examination procedures, assessments criteria and quality assurance mechanisms. The delegates visited the UWTSD Carmarthen campus and met with Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Catrin Thomas and senior academics.

The delegation was impressed and convinced of the capabilities of LSC to become the first and only UK College to become approved as a quality cross border education provider in Bangladesh.
