On 6 December, this year’s graduands and their family and friends gathered at the Intercontinental Hotel, Malta, for the first-ever London School of Commerce, Malta graduation celebration ceremony on the island. The event opened with the procession of senior LSC academics from both the London and Malta campuses, to the tune of Handel’s The Royal Fireworks. The ceremony was chaired by LSC Group’s Head of Student Services, Mr David Staley and degrees were awarded by Dr Lucy Lu, College Provost, Dr David Silbergh, LSC Group’s Chief Operations Officer and Mr Charles Zammit, Education Malta Chairman. During the formal conferment of degrees, there were speeches delivered by guest speaker, Dr Roseanne Cuschieri, CEO of the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), Vice-Chancellor of the University of Suffolk, Professor Helen Langton, Lord John Tomlinson, Chairperson of LSC Group and the Maltese Minister for Education, the Hon. Dr Justyne Caruana. After an excellent student vote of thanks given by Joaquin Manuel Pinto Ferrand, Krystal Sant, LSC Malta Director of Studies gave an inspiring closing speech. After the formal ceremony, graduates, their family and friends mingled within the limitations imposed on us by the current pandemic, congratulations were exchanged, portraits taken, stories exchanged and lots of catching up was done. We would like to wish the successful graduands the very best when seeking better job opportunities thanks to their newly acquired qualifications and invite them to keep in touch through our alumni page!
