Dr Uma Mohan and Dr Rajendra Kumar were recently recognised as Senior Fellows of the Higher Education Academy. The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is the national body in the United Kingdom for enhancing learning and teaching in higher education. HEA Fellowship is an internationally recognised badge of teaching excellence. Senior Fellowships are typically awarded to experienced staff who are able to demonstrate impact and influence through leading and managing within a learning and teaching context. Dr Mohan says that “tailoring teaching methods to suit international students, who are culturally and cognitively diverse is a challenge and this was the focus of my application for Senior Fellowship of the HEA. I am very happy and feel rewarded for being recognised as a Senior Fellow. In fact, I received the fellowship on my birthday and I can say it was one of the best birthday presents I have ever received. I hope I can continue to make a contribution to teaching international students and inculcating a sense of global citizenship in them.”
Dr Kumar says, “I am very happy to be recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy as colleagues at LSC and in partner universities know the true value of what the senior fellowship means in the academic world. I am very grateful to colleagues at LSC and partner universities, my students and my family for their continued support.”
Congratulations Dr Mohan and Dr Kumar on achieving this recognition.
